The new terminal will serve at less than 25 milions passengers. Bali which is expected to be host of APEC Summit in october is currently trying to prepare as good as possible to host all guests.

Bali is doing many thing to face this events. Indonesia government also keeps concern on this events due to will take major exposure from major world. Ranging from venue and specially airport and its supporting are being upgraded. Take a look at the Ngurah Rai international airport, Indonesia state-owned interprise trough PT. angkasa pura 1 is developing the new terminal of Ngurah Rai International airport to support this event and also to cater massive growth of passengers.

The new terminal was expanded, ranging from the area of passengers, the parking area is built up and even the access from and to the airport is much more easy because already completed by toll road which spans across the sea connected.

The new international arrivals terminal covers 120,000 square meters and has the capacity to receive 16 million passengers a year, while the old terminal only covered 65,800 sqm and had the capacity to accommodate 9.4 million passengers per year.

Bali is Face off!.

Air Passengers Flock the Airport

Today is H+4 of Eid Fitri in Indonesia, there was a lot of stories behind it and the most recognised story is about "mudik" or "back home". It was being habbit for moslem majority in Indonesia to back home ahead of the Eid Fitri, meeting with big family and tying friendship with all relatives and friends in hometown.

Many people from various backgrounds were flocking public transportation and also make highway much more crowd with their own vehicles. One thing they need is back home to release their yearning to their hometown. Motor Cycles, Cars and various public transportations were being used by them.

Mudik or back home is not only about mass exodus from center economics into minor economics region. Firmanzah as special economic staff for president Republic of Indonesia is supposing that about Rp. 61 trillion was going around along ramadhan and also eid Fitri. More over Firmanzah also predicts that Rp. 91 trillion was distributed into all regions across Indonesia.

No axception for Airports, all major airports were being crowd due to this mass exodus, more extra flights were added to help this exodus. And absolutely the airport were turned to be crowd places like traditional market as usual.

Air passengers were getting spike at once, i don't know exactly increasing the number. But as usual it were getting higher than previous year along with the middle class is growing faster, yet there is surprised news that the number of train passenger were getting grow specially in executive class along with the increasing the quality of services of national train company. I am pretty sure the train is gonna be tight competitor towards airplanes due to their increasing quality services.

That's Indonesia in celebrating Eid Fitri

Toll Road Will Ease the Traffic of Bali's Airport

pict sky scrapercity indonesia
Last week, I was travelling to Bali. From Java island to Bali by public transportation, it was such excited experience because i did the travelling alone. Many places I visited at the time, ranging from some beaches to central shops yet i'm not going tell you about my pleasure time while i was in Bali. I'm going to write the development of toll road which is connected Bali's airport into Nusa Dua directly in which APEC summit will take place and also the Bali's central spot generally.

The toll road actually is been ready to host many vehicles to ride on, unluckily I do not know more why the toll road itself is not yet operated. But the main point is the toll road is gonna be the way out to solve traffic jam in front of gate of Ngurah Rai International Airport.
pict sky scrapercity indonesia

Each prominent event which took place in Bali, many communities in Bali are cursing the traffic jam due to the event, specially the traffic around the gate way of air port. So by this toll road is expected to decrease the traffic around the airport and even the toll road is possibly becoming the tourist spot, because the toll road split the sea which is surrounded by mangrove, no wonder the toll road was criticized by some environmentalists.

By the end, by operating the toll road can decrease the traffic jam in Bali and absolutely make you and me much more comfortable to spend more our time in Bali Island.

pict Skyscaper City Indonesia | New Terminal and New Park Building, Ngurah Rai Airport
Several months ahead Bali island, Indonesia would take more eyes from international world which is going to host APEC summit, in which this year Indonesia becomes the host. Many infrastructures is swiftly to be completed, ranging from the venue, the airport as well as the toll road which is going to ease the guest from all over Asia Pasific.

Specially the airport Ngurah Rai international airport which is currently facing make over. Many facilities are trying to be completed before reaching october 2013, ranging from new terminal, park building, accessibility and many more.
pict Skyscaper City Indonesia | Ngurah Rai International Airport

It's not only that, supporting airport from others city such as Surabaya, Lombok and even Makassar are predicted to be supporting airport because this summit would be attended by many executives companies from all over the world with their own private jet.

Further more, Indonesia's authority also call on related parties such as travel agencies or tourists to re-adjust their schedule to visit bali because Bali airport will stop operating temporarily due to that event, and i think if you have plan to visit Bali in the beginning of october i cordially suggest you to rearrange your schedule because Bali at that time would not be friendly due to APEC summit.

Garuda Indonesia Group

Garuda Indonesia group is one of the major leading airline service in Indonesia which is standed out from 3 major business institutions ranging from Garuda Indonesia airways, Garuda Maintenance Facility(GMF) AeroAsia as well as the low cost carrier Citilink, which is trying to challenge the prior player such as Lion Air as well as Air Asia Indonesia.

Garuda group itself currently is one of the most growing airline group which is very integrated to challenge globally. For instance GMF AeroAsia itself currently is one of the biggest player in asia in serving airplane service, even GMF AeroAsia is appointed as Approved Service Facilities of Bombardier airplanes in Asia Pacific, it is awesome, right? while Garuda Indonesia airways is trying to expand their business internationally and already secured many awards in global stage.
It is not oly that, their own branch in low-cost carrier Citilink is succesful giving strict competiton in low-cost carrier market. Citilink is very eager to eat up the low cost carrier market in Indonesia along the growth of passengers are rapidly growing. Beside of that, Citilink is expected to go public in 2015 according to Citilink's CEO Arif Wibowo statement.

Very interesting to see what Garuda does so far. Garuda Indonesia which is banned to fly into Europe since 2007, it was great punch for four Indonesia's airline at the time included Mandala Air, PremiAir as well as Airfast. Time goes by, Garuda Indonesia is trying to revamp and revive, with Quantum Leap progrram which was launched in 2009, eventually the effect of that program is gradually getting good result, Garuda Indonesia airways is becoming one of global player in the world which is succes beating Thai airways as well as Malaysia Airline and left Singapore airline.

We wish Garuda Indonesia group is able to keep and persitently flying high, moreover Garuda Indonesia airwys is official sponsor of one of the most renowned football club in the world Liverpool.

In 2 Years, 2 Airlines Was Wrecked

Pict Google
In the span of 2 years, two airlines was wrecked, Batavia Air in the early 2013 and Pacific Royale in the late of 2012. The two airline themselves actually played on different fields, Pacific Royale which was the share owned by indian business man arround 49% played in full-service class, while the Batavia Air played in medium-service. In the beginning, Pacific Royale is expected to compete with Garuda Indonesia in full-service class yet less than 1 year the airline faced problem and forced to stop flight by the authority since the late 2012.

Too bad to be true, Batavia Air which was established in the beginning 2002 was punished bankcrupt by the court business administration due to the dept which burdened company's financial. Whereas before it was declared bankrupt, the company was about to be acquired by Air Asia Indonesia yet the deal was canceled due to some reasons specially in debt burden.
Pict Google

It was very unfortunately, when the passengers of airline in indonesia is growing up due to economic development the two airlines was bankcrupt instead, it was like anomaly. Indonesia which is currently one of the leading growing middle-class in the world with economic growing keeps steadily more than 6% emerged as one of fastest economic growing among G-20 countries.

In other hand, there are new players which is trying to catch the lucrative market of Indonesia, the local layer such as Mandala air which is collaborated with Tiger Airways of singapore, Indonesia Air, and also Sky Aviation and etc. So, are you the next player to enter Indonesia lucrative market?

Batik Air The Competitor of Garuda Indonesia

pict Indo-Aviation.com | Batik Air's Airplane
In the late may 2013 Batik Air as new full service airline which is included into Lion Air Group as one of major airline group in Indonesia inaugurated their flight from Jakarta-Manado, Sulawesi. Very interesting to see what going to be happened on the full service airlines market as far as we know Garuda Indonesia is the only one player which plays on this field in Indonesia.

Batik Air itself is not yet known what the concept they will bring bring such as Garuda Indonesia which brings Indonesia Experience as their sale. As we know Lion Air group itself already ordered bunch of airplanes from both major commercial airplane makers Boieng and also Airbus. No wonder eventually the Lion Group would absorb their airplanes by establishing new airline or even adding new route flights.

The example is by establishing Batik Air as the only one competitor for Garuda Indonesia in full services domestic market. Batik Air will directly compete with Garuda Indonesia, even Garuda Indonesia is much more elder than Batik Air, the competition itself is expected to be hot given the the full service airline itself is only dominated by Garuda Indonesia.

On the other hand when i was visiting a website forum Skyscraper City Indonesia, they have special thread which is talking about Batik Air, yet badly i got alot of complaints from some forumers, they criticized the concept of Batik Air which is considered very carelessly, They also stated that Batik Air did not put more attentions on every single detail of their own concept.

From such as comments, we wish Batik Air is able perform much more better then the customer would have choices for flight and also would trigger healthy competition over Garuda Indonesia, In the end we would have much more cheaper prices for flight in full service airlines.

New Airport Terminal On Komodo Island

pict Indoflyer | The Under Construction Terminal
Good news for you who are eager to visit Komodo Island to get closer to see giant lizard Komodo dragon. Moreover Komodo recently grabbed recognition becoming the new 7 wonders by nature in which make the island more famous over the world. The good news is the government Indonesia is secretly building the new modern terminal to host more tourists who are going to visit the island.

Absolutely by expanding the capacity of the airport would make more accessibilities over the island from the world wide. In building the airport itself is not exposed as much main airport generally, no more pictures from formal institutions yet only snapshot from some travellers who was being there for travelling.
pict Budpar.go.id | Government Supervised

The airport is rumored to be the first modern airport in eastern Indonesia and of course would boost local economy specially for small medium enterprise to scale up, serve more tourist who come to the island is the best way to grow up the local economy.
pict Indoflyer | The Pictures Around The New Terminal
More flights from major cities across Indonesia would ease to flight into Komodo Island directly, even possibly from major city in the world such as Singapore would make as well, given the airport would look much more modern. And the Komodo Island itself is not only providing Komodo dragon as the main destination for tourists, beautiful scenery around the island and great beaches on the edge the island is also great destination to be visited.

Anyway, the airport is also expected to be operated this year to welcome Sail Komodo 2013, so are you ready to land on Komodo Island?

Kauala Namu International Airport should be Ready in July

Ministry of Transportation trough Directorate General of Air Transportation already aired that Kuala Namu International airport willy nilly should be able to host the Airline in july 25th 2013. The directorate of air transportation itself already sent letter of notification that is Aeronautical Information Regulation and Circular (AIRAC) to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
pict Skyscraper City Indonesia | The aerobridge
So in the 25th july is no excuses any more to prolong the postponement for operating the new airport. Airport service manager Polonia aiport Medan told hariansumutpos.com that "all stakeholders should be serious, ready or not, all should be ready before tap 25th july.

It's gonna be interesting to welcome 25th july, all stakeholders should prove their own seriousness for operating this new airport somehow this airport already awaited by north sumatra citizen since the postponement in 2010. And this also being the turning point for north sumatra province to get more advantages because of this airport's operation such as in tourism and something like that.
pict Skyscraper City Indoenesia | The train station in the airport

Kuala Namu itself is expected to be the hub for western Indonesia and major hub to contend the neighborhood airport such as Changi international airport of singapore and also Kuala Lumpur international airport to be major hub of golden triangle for asia and also for europe.

Beside of that, by operating this airport is also expected to be link for Indonesia's airline which is going to the west world without transit in any neighborhood airport and we wish by operating this airport also can be trigger for Indonesia to be more connected.

First Modern Airport in Borneo Island

pict Skyscraper City Indonesia
Not Balikpapan city nor Samarinda city as the most attractive city in Borneo island for being the first city to have modern airport yet small region Berau which is situated in the same province East borneo is the first to have modern airport. Interesting indeed to see more to this small region which is succes to have the first modern airport in Borne island. Can you imagine small region is able to beat the province capital for being the first time to have modern airport.

pict Skyscraper City Indonesia

pict Skyscraper City Indonesia
Berau region itself is small region in the East Borneo province which is growing faster among regions in Indonesia. Berau region beated expectation that small region outside Java island is also able to beat major regions in Indonesia. Kalimaru Airport is the name of the airport, small but giant, it is ultimate proverb to describe the airport, beating big cities over Borneo island and kick out major regions over Indonesia in development. The Kalimaru airport would be major hub to link into renowned island vacation Derawan and of course it would help to boost Berau's economic specially in tourism itself.

pict Skyscraper City Indonesia
Kalimaru airport in the future would be proposed to be international airport which is connected into international windows that means it would make ease for somebody those who are going to visit this region and absolutely giving more exposure over Derawan island into global world. Actually the airport itself is served by 4 carrier yet the Batavia Air is punished bankrupt by the authorities while today left 3 airlines which is still serving those are Sriwijaya Airline, Trigana Airline and also Kalstar Airline.

Angkasa Pura l and Angkasa Pura ll

Today, we're going to tell about airport operator over Indonesia. In Indonesia there are two majors airport operator which is included state-owned enterprise of Indonesia those are Angkasa Pura I(one) and Angkasa Pura ll(two). Those airport operator are very monopolistic over Indonesia's airport, Angkasa Pura I is commonly controlling over ariport in the eastern Indonesia, such as Ngurah Rai International airport of Bali island, while Angkasa Pura ll is controlling over western Indonesia airport such as Soekarno-Hatta International airport of Jakarta.
pict Google
Ther is no private company yet plays on this field, except for the private airport for some company which is building airport for business access such as in mining fields and something like that. Those airport operator are very dominant over Indonesia's airport, sometimes government giving signals to attract private investor to be airport operator, moreover along Indonesia's economy currently being growing faster among G20 countries.

One of  the private company is actually taking part in Borneo island in building new airport of Samarinda city as capital of East Borneo Province. The company itself is part of Bakrie group as one of the biggest conglomerate in Indonesia, yet time goes by the news is disappear without any signal to be implemented.

pict Google
So until now, those airport operator are the still the main major players over Indonesia's airport. Along Indonseia's economy is growing, Indonesian government through those airport company plan to build the 15 new airport to support and spread economy development over Indonesia. Yet the unlimited of fund is still major barrier for government to to develop or to build the new airport over Indonesia.

Lion Air Will Extend its Present into Thailand

pict Google
The news actually is not surprised any longer because since Lion Air ordered more plans from both biggest airplane maker Boeing and Airbus they seem intensifying to enlarge their market into potential market such as Malaysia, Thailand, Australia etc. Even their last expansion into Malaysia by launching Malindo Airways which is joint venture with Malaysian Business entity.

The Jakarta-based airline itself  has already started recruiting pilots, cabin attendants and ground staff. Thai Lion Air intends to start its operation strongly with the deployment of up to six single-aisle twin-jet Boeing 737-800s and by using Bangkok's Don Mueang airport as its base, according to people with knowledge of the matter, quoting from businessweek.

Woradej Harnprasert, director-general of the Civil Aviation Department, yesterday confirmed Lion Air is launching a Thai subsidiary, although the department has not yet received an application for air operator's certificate. The creation of Thai Lion Air comes in the form of joint venture with Thai entities, which are required by law to have a minimum 51% holding, quoting from businessweek still

If the news is really realized, Lion Air will enter to the highly contested market, it will compete with Thai AirAsia and Nok Air as well. And by this news, absolutely good news for the customers to get much more cheaper and much more quality services because of the competition.

CEO of Lion Air itself Rusdi Kirana in March already told that the airline was still exploring earlier plans to establish subsidiaries in Australia and Thailand. The Executives have also said the airline is considering to open more subsidiaries such as in Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Malaysia and the Philippines to grow its present over the regional to welcome ASEAN Open Sky, and essentially to absorb its huge aircraft quantity.

Thai, are you on board with Lion?
